INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

YMCA OF GREATER SPRINGFIELD

DOWNTOWN SPRINGFIELD YMCA & SCANTIC VALLEY YMCA

The safety of our members and staff is the most important factor in determining weather-related delays, cancellations and closings.

We encourage members to check the YMCA website, www.springfieldy.org, WWLP 22, WGGB (ABC 40/FOX 6) and follow the YMCA of Greater Springfield and Scantic Valley YMCA Branch Facebook pages for updated status reports due to weather or emergency conditions.

If the facilities remain open during inclement weather, the wellness centers, pools and gymnasium will remain available to our members regardless of class and programming cancellations.

BASED ON THE HAMPDEN/WILBRAHAM REGIONAL SCHOOL SYSTEM

SCHOOL DELAY
If the public/regional school system has a delay, there will be no classes, programs or Child Watch offered in the morning. Classes and programming will resume after 12pm, weather permitting.

EARLY SCHOOL DISMISSAL
If there is an early school dismissal, there will be no afternoon/evening classes, programs, or Child Watch/Club House.

SCHOOL CANCELLED
If school is cancelled, there will no classes, programs or Child Watch offered in the morning. Classes and
programming may resume after 12pm if the weather permits. Please contact the Welcome Center for updates.
