The YMCA of Greater Springfield is offering Lifeguard Training at the Scantic Valley YMCA in Wilbraham, giving participants the skills and credentials needed to work as a professional lifeguard in pools and aquatic environments.

This comprehensive course prepares participants to prevent emergencies, respond confidently, and save lives. Training includes CPR, First Aid, and AED certification for the professional rescuer, all included in the cost of the program. The class follows a blended learning format, combining online coursework with in-person, hands-on training.

Lifeguard Training Details

  • Dates: February 16–20, 2026

  • Time: 9:00 AM–2:30 PM

  • Location: Scantic Valley YMCA, Wilbraham, MA

  • Ages: 16+

  • Cost:

    • YMCA Members: $290

    • Non-Members: $350

    • Recertification (with current certification): $100

Participants must pass a swim test on the first day to remain registered.
