The Y’s focus is on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. At the YMCA of Greater Springfield, the goal of our child development programs is to nurture young people by providing a safe place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships, and build self-confidence. The entire experience for the children is built around activities that challenge them to accept and demonstrate the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Y Programming Before School
The Y provides a before-school program geared toward working parents who need care before the start of school. Breakfast is provided at some locations, and children can choose from a variety of activities. Participants are transported to their school by an authorized YMCA vehicle. We offer 2 different locations in Springfield; participants are assigned to one of the 2 locations based on their school assignment.

There is a cut-off time for Before School and Breakfast. These times vary depending on the school start time and distance from our locations. For more information regarding cut-off times please email the transportation coordinator at imccoy@springfieldy.org.
