Downtown Springfield Learning Center Celebrates Week of the Young Child

The YMCA of Greater Springfield’s Downtown Springfield Learning Center proudly celebrated Week of the Young Child, an annual event that recognizes the importance of early childhood education and the critical role it plays in shaping young minds.

Throughout the week, children took part in engaging, hands-on activities designed to spark creativity, encourage movement, and build connections. One of the highlights was a festive Taco Tuesday, where the energy and excitement were on full display. (Maybe a little bit on their faces and hands, too!)

Week of the Young Child is a nationwide initiative focused on supporting young learners and their families, and at the Y, it is another opportunity to bring our mission to life!
