Healthy Kids Day Brings Energy, Exploration, and Fun Across YMCA of Greater Springfield

Healthy Kids Day was in full swing across the YMCA of Greater Springfield, with both our Scantic Valley YMCA in Wilbraham and Downtown Learning Center in Tower Square buzzing with activity, creativity, and hands-on fun.

At Scantic Valley, it was a day packed with movement and discovery. Kids climbed the rock wall, tackled the obstacle course, planted seeds, and got creative with arts and crafts. Around every corner, there was something new to try—from exploring fire trucks and trying on hats to flipping through books, decorating piggy banks, and playing interactive games. Live ukulele music, chalk art, and plenty of healthy snacks kept the energy going all day long.

Over at our Downtown Learning Center, the experience was just as dynamic. One minute kids were diving into arts and crafts, the next they were holding a sugar glider or coming face-to-face with incredible animals. Families learned more about upcoming camp opportunities, kids got fresh haircuts, and every space offered something new to explore. It was a fast-moving, curiosity-filled day that kept everyone engaged.

Across both locations, Healthy Kids Day was all about giving families the chance to try new things, learn together, and stay active in a fun, welcoming environment.

Thank you to everyone who came out, jumped in, and made it such a memorable day.
